Pre - Cremation Body Height

If you know the rough pre cremation body height or weight it helps to choose an urn. The contents of remains is mainly bone from the frame of the deceased. Extra weight on a person does not count towards an increased volume of ashes. Two deceased people, of the same height and frame, one carrying more weight than the other, will produce the same volume of ashes.

Remains also vary depending on where they are cremated. Different countries have different cremation methods.

Post Cremation Volume

If you already have your ashes open the container to see the volume of ashes. Estimate how many Litres the ashes take up. Our urns are all measured inside using water. You will find the volume listed in the urn description. If you are not sure choose a bigger urn. It’s ok if the urn is not filled to the brim.

Keep in mind that ashes are very heavy. Although they feel weighted, they may not take up much space.
