Pre - Cremation Body Height
If you know the rough pre cremation body height it helps to choose an urn. The contents of remains is mainly bone from the frame of the deceased. The weight of the person is not relevant.
Remains also vary depending on where they are cremated. Different countries have different cremation methods.
Post Cremation Volume
If you already have your ashes open the container to see the volume of ashes. Estimate how many Litres the ashes take up. If you are not sure choose a bigger urn. It’s ok if the urn is not filled to the brim.
Keep in mind that ashes are very heavy. Although they feel weighted, they may not take up much space.
