Set of 5 Indigenous Villagers #0023
Set of 5 Indigenous Villagers #0023
These Indigenous Villagers are made from iron rich stoneware with porcelain hair and hand painted markings. The pet nudibranch is pigmented stoneware with porcelain detail. If you don’t know what a ‘nudibranch’ is you should Google it.
Indigenous Villagers are disadvantaged due to their history with the white Villagers. In recognition of this fact the white Villagers volunteer for the Indigenous population twice a month for a full day. They receive instruction from the Indigenous elders on exactly how to help. (It is not the white Villagers who decide what help is needed). Tasks the white Villagers are given, by the Indigenous elders, include playing cricket with Indigenous youth, learning Indigenous language and helping to restore biodiversity on country that has been damaged throughout history.
Villagers are miniature ceramic people and pets. They live in garden pots, on bookshelves, window sills, secret places and nooks and crannies.
Handmade pottery people and pets made from white stoneware clay in Perth Western Australia.
Villagers come with a description label that explains their background.
What are Villagers?
Villagers are an all ages gift. Adults use them as decorative items. Children adore collecting Villagers. They play with Villagers grouping and regrouping them into families. Kids are known to build homes and towns for them out of boxes and fabric complete with zip lines and all . The best way to collect Villagers is by signing up to become a Villager VIP. You will get 24hour access to newly released villagers before the general public. Villagers are made in small batches and released several times a year. Be the first to know when new villagers are listed.
