Iron rich stoneware. Fired to 1280 Celcius. Vitrified.

Freckle glaze finish. The white glaze is applied over jet black clay. As the piece heats to 1280 degrees in the kiln the organic matter in the clay burns away and gasses escape the black clay. As the gasses leave the pot, through the white glaze, they deposit freckles on the surface of the glaze. Naturally the freckles vary in density as the thickness of the glaze differs. Urn for human or pet ashes.
