24K gold handmade ceramic espresso cup.

The entire exterior is enveloped in real gold lustre from top to bottom.

The ceramic cup is handmade from white raku stoneware clay. Each cup has spent over 100 hours in a kiln over three separate firings. The maximum temperature reached is 1280 degrees celcius. The cup is vitrified- it is waterproof like glass. The quality is thin and durable.

The cup is crafted using hand building pottery techniques ( as opposed to being pulled on a pottery wheel). They are comfortable to hold and calming to observe.

The inside of the cup is glazed with clear gloss glaze to reveal the minerals in the clay body. The popular iron grains gives the pottery cup it’s speckled appearance.

The outside of the cup remains largely unglazed. The full rawness of the clay is on display. The sharp carvings are sporadic. Each cup is a one-off unique item.

Each unique espresso/guinomi cup is plated with real gold. The gold lustre is applied before the third firing in an oil suspension. The oil burns away to reveal the gold plating. The gold appears matt and glossy. Matt if on raw clay, glossy if on glazed clay. Hence both glossy and matt gold plating can be appreciated.

The pentagonal foot is exquisitely shaped and stamped with the artist signature.

The cup is shipped in a gift box wrapped with tissue paper and secured with Japanese washi tape.
